The Problem
The Waitlist Crisis in Gender Care.
The current state of transgender healthcare in the Netherlands presents a critical challenge that RVJ was founded to address.
Academic centers, such as Amsterdam UMC, currently operate with waitlists exceeding four years.
Patients are explicitly mandated to seek localized psychological support during this interim.
There is currently zero specialized, multidisciplinary SGGZ provision serving the Overijssel and Gelderland border region.
This systemic inefficiency directly correlates to elevated acute psychiatric admissions and lost labor-market participation.
Current Academic Waitlist
Leaving a critical gap in care for thousands of individuals awaiting specialized support.
The Human Impact
These delays aren't just numbers—they represent real people experiencing mental health challenges without adequate support, leading to preventable crises and suffering.
